Biography
T.B. Florusse (Zwijndrecht, The Netherlands, June 26th 1994) is a captivating singer, songwriter and producer based in Dordrecht, NL. Inspired by the hustle and bustle of daily life, his stories are captured into honest, narrative songs.
Inspired by the songs of Jackson Browne, JD Souther, James Taylor, Tom Waits, Royal Wood and Justin Vernon, Thomas started writing music at the age of 14. Soon, he gathered musical experience by playing keyboards in various bands and projects and started his study at the Zadkine Popacademy in Rotterdam. In May 2013, his first EP Ever Changing Colors was released and celebrated with a packed-house release show in De Unie, Rotterdam. In an intimate atmosphere, sitting behind his piano, T.B. Florusse is known to perform his songs just like telling a story and taking his audience to a whole new level of experiencing music. His lyrics reflect the hustle and bustle of daily life, love, bonding, letting go, friendship and courage. In 2014, Thomas was nominated for two THISS-Awards, being “Best Recorded Performance (Piano & Vocal)” for his song I Am Your Ground and “Best Concept Music Video” for the mini-documentary regarding the release of Ever Changing Colors. Over the previous years, Thomas has worked with a variety of artists including Linda Kreuzen, Thisgirlslife, Mary Syll (NL/PL), Peter Katz (CAN) Bambooka, Diona Fox & her Ragdolls, Abby Lies, Pene Corrida, Claire Schuyff, Rikke Korswagen, Marvin Verwijk, Emmaly Brown, Between Hours and Slick and the Suits and is proud to mention his collaboration with renowned Dutch songwriter Tjeerd Bomhof, who gathered national and international fame with his projects Voicst and Dazzled Kid. T.B. Florusse has produced, arranged and co-written Dutch/Polish singer/songwriter Mary Syll's debut-album Mouth which was released in January 2016. Since December 2015, Thomas joined Dordrecht-based pop/rock-band Lost in L.A. as their new keyboardist. In May 2016, T.B. Florusse released his first full-length record "A Different Man", with the help of Rotterdam-based musician and engineer Rikke Korswagen (Half Way Station). The vinyl-release is planned in the summer of 2016. T.B.
